Laura Redekopp
Laura is currently in her first year at Trinity Western University working towards her Bachelor of Art Degree with a Psychology Major. Laura graduated from High School this spring with Honours. Not only does Laura excel in the classroom, she also has been very involved in her community. She leads a weekly youth group, teaches youth at her church, helps in Surrey environmental clean-up days and visits the elderly at a Seniors Center in White Rock just to name a few.
Laura has also travelled abroad to Guatemala to provide clothing, food and medicine to rural communities. While there, she also helped dig a well and build a school all while being immersed in the local culture by living with a Guatemalan family. Just to top is all off Laura has been the lead roll in the musical Guys and Dolls, awarded the Citizenship Award from her high school and voted “Most Inspirational Player” on her soccer team, twice.
Congratulations Laura and we wish you the best of luck with your studies at Trinity Western University!
I would also like to thank all the other applicants that took the time to apply. If you weren’t successful this year, please apply again next year.

Secretary/Treasurer of the Society of Pacific Region Fishery Officers
Overview
In 2008, the Society of Pacific Region Fishery Officers (SPRFO) instituted a Scholarship Awards Program. The first scholarship will be for the amount of $1,000. The Society endeavours to have more awards and higher level awards in future years. This will be dependant on our fundraising success. Regular and Associate Members and their children or dependants are eligible to apply for the Award. However, the members must be in good standing as of March 31st of the year of application. Preference will be given where the member has been current for at least two continuous years. Applicants seeking funding for formal learning which contributes directly to the goals of natural resources and environmental conservation enforcement or compliance will be given higher priority. Conflict analysis and management, restorative justice, natural resources management, and environmental management are also priorities of the Society.
